The retailer Sephora has decided to introduce 13 Higher Dose products to its online assortment.Co-founders Katie Kaps and Lauren Berlingeri consider the launch of the HiggherDose wellness products to use directly at home a pivotal moment in their mission to make infrared and biohacking available to everyone.

About HigherDose

HigherDose was born as the firstinfrared sauna in Manhattan and quickly grew to several locations throughout New York City, particularly through partnerships such as the one with the luxury hotel 11 Howard. The company also operated a spa in Brooklyn, where it offered services such as lymphatic drainage massage, body wrap, and infrared sauna.. HigherDose’s growth accelerated especially when it moved from services to wellness products distributed through direct-to-consumer channels. At the height of the pandemic, sales of HigherDose’s sauna blanket skyrocketed by 400%.

The Sephora collab

It is not yet clear whether Sephora’s beauty-focused clientele is ready to spend nearly $700 on a crystal-infused therapy mat. However, the founders are confident in introducing advanced wellness modalities and are spreading the word through education. HigherDose has developed tutorials and detailed content on Sephora’s website to inform customers about their products. It will also work with influencers from Sephora Squad, the retailer’s chosen community of creators, and with other beauty experts to demonstrate the benefits of the products and how to incorporate them into the daily routine.

The Infrared Sauna Blanket and the PEMF Go Infrared Mat, both $699, are the second most expensive items for sale on Sephora’s website. In addition to Sephora, HigherDose is present at retailers and online shops, such as Goop, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Harrods, Bergdorf Goodman, Revolve, CurrentBody and Bluemercury.

HigherDose Product Selection

Despite the awareness and adoption of biohacking has exploded since HigherDose launched in 2016, the wellness products have struggled to sell at specialty beauty retailers like Sephora. Despite this, Sephora is intent on becoming something more than just a makeup, skincare and perfume store. Last week, she launched sex toy brand Smile Makers online, and her Instagram posts announcing the launch went viral, angering many consumers who called for Sephora to “stick to makeup.”
